Harbour Town Yacht Basin
Inspired by a harbour in Portofino, Italy, Charles Fraser's vision for the yacht basin was to attract mariners to Hilton Head Island, while preserving the island's natural landscape. His unique foresight resulted in a design that preserved a centuries-old live oak, in lieu of additional slips, and included the construction of the island's iconic Harbour Town Lighthouse.

Sea Pines founder Charles E. Fraser established the Heritage Classic in 1969 with Arnold Palmer winning the inaugural tournament and giving Pete Dye’s Harbour Town Golf Links national recognition. In the ensuing decades, the tournament has not only raised millions for charities through the Heritage Classic Foundation but it is also credited with putting Hilton Head Island and The Sea Pines Resort on the world map.
Sea Pines Forest Preserve
Since 1970, the Sea Pines Forest Preserve has been a protected area for wildlife habitat and outdoor exploration. Following the construction of the first trails in the early 1970s, the preserve has grown to include bridle paths, wetland boardwalks, bridges and fishing docks, creating even more ways for visitors to explore and enjoy this stunning and pristine part of Hilton Head Island.
Harbour Town Lighthouse
The symbolic beacon was designed to attract people to Harbour Town, envisioned by Fraser as a fun, lively gathering spot for both the Sea Pines community and the island. Construction of the 90-foot white-and-red-striped structure began in 1968 and years later, the interior of the lighthouse was turned into a museum, offering visitors a colorful history of Hilton Head Island.

Do I need a gate pass to visit restaurants and the beach at The Sea Pines Resort?

Your party must have a gate pass to enter Sea Pines by car, bicycle or foot, and it must be shown at the security gate. Registered lodging guests of The Sea Pines Resort will receive two passes upon check-in. Guests at The Sea Pines Resort’s golf courses and restaurants may request a gate pass in advance of their confirmed tee time or reservation; they may also request gate fee reimbursement (minimum purchase of $25).

The Sea Pines Resort offers select homes and villas with convenient beach access. Our property search tool allows you to identify properties that are on the beach, a walk to the beach or a quick and easy bike ride to the beach. The world-class Sea Pines Beach Club also offers guests convenient beach access, along with a variety of dining options, the Surf Shop, bike racks, family-friendly restrooms and outdoor showers.

Non-guests and visitors of Sea Pines may utilize the complimentary beach shuttle service provided by Sea Pines Community Service Associates, Inc. (Sea Pines CSA).
